Product Description
29 Gifts is the insightful story of the author’s life change as she embraces and reflects on the naturally reciprocal process of giving and receiving. Many of Walker’s gifts were simple —a phone call, spare change, a Kleenex. Yet the acts were transformative. By Day 29, not only had Walker’s health and happiness improved, but she had created a worldwide giving movement.
The book also includes personal essays from others whose lives changed for the better by giving, plus pages for the reader to record their own journey. More than a memoir, 29 Gifts offers inspiring lessons on how a simple daily practice of altruism can dramatically alter your outlook on the world.

This is an excellent book and easy to read. I bought 4 copies - 3 for gifts and one for myself - everyone was thrilled to receive the book and I’ve received very good feedback from others.

29 Gifts: How a Month of Giving Can Change Your Life
I bought this book for my sister for Christmas. I read the first 10 days and it was just too much.
The idea is one gets over self centeredness by giving a gift 29 days in a row.
Isn’t this the basis of any of the major religions?
This author spins her own story as she is the center of the universe who wants to start this new movement - based on this new age African Americanized witch that sets up this altar for her clients individually, who calls on their ancestors.
The author also plugs for some good sounding charities on different days, but I would be highly suspicious unless they were throughly checked out.
Anyway, the above comments are my gift for today - stay clear of this book.
I’ll pray for the author.

29 Gifts: How a Month of Giving Can Change Your Life
The title and concept was very interesting to me, so I purchased it after reading some of the reviews. Being what I would describe a mature Christian in a religion that bases all practices by the Holy Bible, I was pretty disappointed that this was a “spiritual” book, rather than a Bible-based book. The author believes in a type of religion that acknowledges many Western religions and that each spiritual person gives us information (Budda, Jesus, etc), and attends a church that has a parody of the 12 disciples in the foyer and Oprah and John Lenon were part of the 12. I personally read a review that stated it was a spiritual book and assumed that it was Bible-based with scripture to support, BUT…not in the same manner as I wished. The author also believes in a bunch of New Age-type practices that I do NOT believe in. This ruined this book for me.
I liked the giving concept of the 29 gifts. As a medical professional, I also recognized the detailed information that read like a journal as to what the author went through since having a diagnosis of MS. I believe this information was important enough for me to read the book, despite my disappointment in other areas. Many of my patients have MS so it allows me to better appreciate what each may be going through. The personal experience of living with a disease is NOT what most medical schools teach.
This book would be great for the RIGHT reader. I was NOT the right reader.

29 Gifts: How a Month of Giving Can Change Your Life
I really loved this book.
It was inspirational and I’ve already started to give copies to friends and family
as gifts.
I have also started journaling and giving and found that it has increased my
abundance. It has given me a more positive outlook on life.
If you know someone who is depressed or someone who just needs a bit of inspiration,
it is a great book to give.
