How many Christmas gifts should a child receive?
I have two children my oldest is six and for the past six years I have gone a little overboard with the gifts from Santa, around twenty or thirty gifts per child ranging in cost. I am not wealthy and my children are not spoiled, I simply enjoy the idea of giving, to everyone. This year I am trying to be a little more conservative due to less funds, any tips would be great. Thanks!

Less than ten per each child would be appropriate. I know it sounds like nothing compared to what your children have been recieving, but it is the average amount kids get from Santa. I hope this helps!
Twenty or thirty gifts per child? Good grief, we don’t even give out 20 gifts in total.
We never gave our children more than one or two gifts and then we would buy something the whole family could enjoy. We always told them that its not about the gifts, it was supposed to be about the fellowship of the family coming together.
When I was little me and my 2 siblings would receive around 20 gifts each. But a lot of this was from extended family (dad’s family is HUGE) and grandparents so that really isn’t that much at all.
I don’t think the number of gifts matter but the amount you spend. You could spend $50 and get $40+ gifts from the dollar store, but at the same time you could spend $500 and only get on gift. What you should do is set a dollar amount on how much you want to spend and don’t go over that and however many gifts that buys is how many they will get.
One large gift ( usually the one they want the most ),two smaller gifts, a new clothes outfit and a few dollar store stocking stuffers.
The amount of gifts isn’t important - The money you spend per child should not exceed $500 per child.
But where do you put all those gifts and how long does it take to open all the gifts.
What I do, as a mother of two girls, I look at what they need and know I would be spending the money anyways - new outfits - books - movies. I always make sure I give them one educational gift and two outfits, new pjs, and one big gift - like a new bicycle or a keyboard. My youngest girls birthday is two days after Christmas.
I would limit the number to 10 each including gifts from you.
it depends a lot on your budget. i normally get 4-5 little gifts, 2-3 nice gifts, and 1 big (expensive gift) last year i got little stuff like beef jerkey and cloths, a few video games, and an ipod touch. now you have to adjust for age but dont be pressured to spend to much.
Maybe one big gift and few smaller ones? Just scale back. I don’t think theres any certain number of gifts children should get.
Ok you sound like me lol when I had 1 kid I got him like 30 things and then when I had 2 they got like 20 things and now I have 3 and they get 15 things I wont make it any less then that or more then that. I think 15 is a good number.
As far as saving clip coupons for toys, hit the door buster sales at toys r us, walmart etc., and if you wanna brave the crowd you can go on black Friday for the sales. For your stocking stuff, wrapping paper, tape, tags, and bows go to the dollar tree.

When i was a kid i always got 20- 30 gifts each year like you do for your children. When i was about 14 i started getting less gifts but more expensive ones. and mp3 player, tv, and so on. so at this moment (and most wont agree) i think you arent doing anything wrong.
Also, my parents werent rich and i want spoiled either.
Have a Happy Christmas =)
