Your Holiday Guide in Printing Greeting Cards
The holidays are upon us, and greeting cards are being sent across states and countries. Have you noticed the growing trend lately in printing greeting cards? People have been creating custom greeting cards to send to their loved ones nowadays. A personalized greeting card is of course very special. Receivers of the greeting card will appreciate the special attention paid into creating such a custom creation. Read the easy to follow steps below on printing greeting cards to make your own personalized card to send to your family and friends.
1. The first step is to create a design for a greeting card. It is easy. You can use your favorite graphics design software to do this. If you are a novice at this, don’t worry just look through your office software and look for greeting card templates or wizards. All you have to do for the design is to pick a cover for the greeting card, and a message for the inside right panel. The most common image used is of course a picture of yourself with the people you live with, in festive attire. Keep in mind the dimensions, but a letter paper (8.5”x11”) folded horizontally once and vertically once is a good standard dimension to work with. This means that each panel should be 4.25” x 5.5” roughly.
2. Next print out your design. If you have a good printer and a great deal of ink at home, just start printing them out. Make sure you use a nice quality paper to make those full color greeting cards extra special. If you want, you can also have an online greeting card printing company handle all the printing for you. You can just send them your design and you’ll have your custom greeting cards printed and delivered in no time.
3. Afterwards you can add other special decorations to your card. Using glittery pens, trace a few details of your design to add that sparkle to your greeting card cover letter. Cut a few creative holes and add a ribbon in some sides to make the card look festive. If you want to add some texture like some buttons, or “scrap booking” items glue them to your business card for that 3D effect. Take note though that if you are sending a lot of greeting cards, this may be an arduous process.
4. Then pick out a nice envelope that compliments your postcard design. Make sure that the card fits into the envelope, especially if you glued in some special 3d objects there.
5. Lastly, write your special message for your loved one before you send your personal greeting card.
Great! That was easy right? Giving custom greeting cards this holiday season is the way to go. It is special and personal unlike traditional greeting cards which are too commercialized. Have fun printing those cards!
